Ok. So I've never written a diary before, let alone a blog. So why would I start one now?
In truth, I think I'm doing this mainly to enhance and maintain my own writing ability. As well as to allow others to see the way I think and feel, and even comment or debate on any stance I may uphold. Because I've always found, whether it be midway through an essay, or simply in a comment section on Facebook, it feels good to not only voice your opinion but for it to be heard.
As a student studying English Language and Communication I am constantly being asked to consider and even criticise what others say. Which is probably another very valid reason as to why am I writing this blog. By inviting you, the reader, to gain insight into my own perception, it allows me to adapt and reconsider an outsiders point of view, in a way I may not have contemplated before. Hopefully by doing this, both my introspective and "outrospective" analytical skills will strengthen.
Putting these educational aspects aside, I must also admit, I have a keen interest in politics, current affairs and entertainment. I enjoy discussing these topics, and I enjoy listening to others views. Including those who don't necessarily stand at the same end of the spectrum as myself. However, that's not to imply I will only be discussing these topics. From what I understand a blog is also somewhat of a personal diary. So my blog will be exactly that. My blog will be personal. I may voice events or occurrences that have taken place within my own day, and I definitely won't be impartial.
Ultimately though, one of the main reasons I am writing this is because after finishing my degree, I want to follow a career involving some form of new media. So what better way to exemplify this, then through the medium of new media itself!
